In a world where teens are constantly told what to do, while being reminded of their independence, we try to give them a little space of their own on a weekly basis.
No judgment. No performance. No product required.
If art or even life feels like a test, a performance, or something you had to “get right,” you’re not alone.
A lot of teens carry that tension into the rest of their creative lives — so they avoid it altogether.
And then there’s social media: comparison loops, highlight reels, and doing things for likes — not for yourself.
Here’s a different kind of space.
Teen Takeover is a teen-first creative environment where you’re invited to:
There’s no pressure for outcomes, no “perfect” photos, no grading, and no comparison games.
This is a place to make, experiment, hang out, breathe — and be in your own process.
Every week, the studio opens for teens to take the space in the ways that feel right for them.
You can:
You’re fully supervised for safety, but you’re in charge of your own experience.
Teen life right now isn’t the same it used to be:
School once taught creativity as a product.
Right answers were rewarded. Mistakes were punished.
That can leave a lot of teens worried about being “good enough” before they even start.
Social media makes comparison feel normal.
Watching everyone else’s highlight reel can make your own process feel small.
The pandemic pulled a lot of social space away.
Connection now often feels awkward, digital, or performative.
Teen Takeover exists to undo those learned patterns,
not by critiquing them, but by offering a space where:
Teens often don’t talk about what they made.
They talk about how they felt:
That shift — from performance to presence — is the relief people are looking for.
We run additional paid programs through Teen Takeover - seasonal sessions that expand on skills,
group projects, or longer-term creative engagements.
These change from season to season, and you’ll always find the latest offerings below.
You don’t need experience.
You don’t need a portfolio.
You don’t need to “know your style.”
You just need to show up.
Do I need to bring anything?
Nope — you can bring your own materials or work with ours.
Do I have to commit every week?
No. Come when it feels right for you.
Is this a class?
Not in the traditional school sense.
Think of it as studio time with support — not evaluation.
A social space for creative people to be creative.
This is a space for your voice, not for someone else’s expectations.
Creative confidence isn’t built on perfection — it’s built on trying, experimenting, and being allowed to just do the thing.
