Creative Barracks offers hands-on creative programs for teens in Dunnville, from pottery and painting to illustration, animation and digital art.
Some teens have been drawing since they could hold a pencil.
Others haven't made anything creative in years.
Some are incredibly confident.
Others are convinced everything they make is terrible.
None of that matters.
We care more about curiosity than talent.
You can learn a skill. Confidence comes from getting the chance to try.
Not every teenager wants another class where they're expected to perform, compete or get the "right" answer.
Sometimes they just want to make something.
Try something weird. Hang out with people who get it. Or spend a couple of hours doing something completely different from school.
That's what our teen programming is about.
An evening that's actually theirs.
Teen Takeover gives young creatives a chance to take over the studio, make something, hang out and enjoy a creative experience designed specifically for them.
It's not an after-school class.
It's not a youth group.
It's an opportunity to spend time with other teens in a creative environment.
Teenagers are increasingly surrounded by digital content created by other people.
We want to give them opportunities to create something themselves.
Something physical.
Something digital.
Something weird.
Something beautiful.
Something completely their own.
A safe and supervised atmosphere for teen socialization and creativity. Teens are welcome to meet up, study, collaborate or create in their way.
Interested in a program? Our teen programs are structured enough that students receive meaningful instruction, while still leaving room for individual creativity.
We want teens to learn skills without feeling like they're sitting in another classroom.
They're here to create: art, friendships and memories.
