There are sheets of colourful glass, tools you've probably never used, copper foil, solder and a lot of terminology that means absolutely nothing if you've never done it before.
That's why we do the prep work for you.
Your glass is prepared ahead of time so you can spend your workshop learning, creating and enjoying the process rather than trying to figure everything out from scratch.
We'll walk you through the process step-by-step.
You don't need artistic experience.
You don't need stained glass experience.
You don't need to know what you're doing when you walk through the door.
That's what we're here for.
Our stained glass workshops feature projects designed to be achievable for beginners while still giving you the satisfaction of learning real stained glass techniques.
Depending on the workshop, you might create:
Lightcatchers
Seasonal designs
Decorative pieces
Nature-inspired pieces
Specialty projects
Your project will be yours to take home and enjoy.
This is one of the best parts.
We'll have a selection of glass available and you'll choose the colours that make your piece yours.
We'll explain what you're doing and why, without throwing a bunch of technical jargon at you and walking away.
You'll work through the project step-by-step with guidance available throughout the workshop.
Your finished piece doesn't need to look exactly like anyone else's.
Choose colours and details that suit you.
Leave with something you made yourself.
This isn't an institutional art class. There aren't grades. There aren't exams. Nobody is judging your technique. We're interested in helping you have a good experience and leave with something you're proud of.
You might come in saying:
"I'm not artistic at all."
And leave saying:
"I made this."
That's the whole point.
You've never touched stained glass before.
Perfect.
You already make things and want to try another medium.
Come play with glass.
Bring your friends and spend a couple of hours doing something different.
There's something pretty special about making an object with your own hands instead of buying another thing from a store.
Honestly?
That's enough.
Stained glass is a great experience to share. Bring:
Or come on your own.
If you're the person organizing the group, send the workshop details to everyone and let them decide.
We've taken stained glass out of the studio and paired it with a sweet and savoury high tea at Purple Haven Lavender Farm.
Enjoy lunch, spend two hours creating your own stained glass lightcatcher, and spend the afternoon in a beautiful rural setting.
Noon–3 PM | $100 + HST per person
Planning a girls' day, birthday, family gathering or just an excuse to get everyone together?
You can book a private creative experience for your group.
We'll provide the materials, instruction and studio space.
You provide the people.
Know someone who would rather do something than receive another present?
A stained glass workshop makes a great experience gift.
Give them a couple of hours to learn something new and make something they can keep.
Stained glass has been used for centuries to tell stories, transform architecture and bring colour and light into spaces.
From medieval cathedral windows to contemporary artwork, stained glass has evolved dramatically while keeping the same basic appeal:
colour + light + glass = something pretty spectacular.
If you're curious about where this art form came from, we've put together more information about the history of stained glass in our blog
