- All programs must be registered for in advance through our online registration system.
- Spaces are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
- A program is considered confirmed only when your registration is completed in our online system.
- Families are responsible for ensuring all contact information, emergency contacts, and participant details are accurate and up to date.
Payment Policies
- Full payment is required before a program or at drop-off, including HST.
- We prefer cash, e-transfers to barracksbythegrand@gmail.com or payment in studio using debit, or credit cards, or our online payment system. We do not accept cheques from individuals, only businesses or registered non-profits.
- Outstanding balances must be resolved before a participant is welcome to register for other programs
Age & Eligibility
- Participants must meet the minimum age requirement by the first day of the program.
- Children must be bathroom independent in order to attend any of our programs.
- Children are not welcome to attend adult programming.
- Adults are not welcome to attend children's programming.
- Parents may relax in our lounge during class time, but they may not sit in the teaching space during class. If you wish to spend time together during class, register for Family Workshops.
- Some workshops require basic skills or previous experience; these requirements are listed in the program description.
Attendance, Illness & Missed Classes
- Missed classes (including illness, vacations, scheduling conflicts, etc.) are non-refundable and non-transferable, unless notice is received at least 24hrs prior to the beginning of your program, and the class is not already full.
- Once a program roster is full - we do not allow transfer or refunds, even if received 24hours in advance.
- If you fail to attend your registered class, no refunds, or credits.
- We do not provide make-up classes unless a class is cancelled by studio staff.
- Students must be symptom free for 48 hours prior to a program in order to attend.
- If you drop off a child who is ill or has a fever, vomiting/diarrhea , requiring early pick up, there is no refund or credit, and your family will be asked to pay a $50 studio sanitization fee, no exceptions. KEEP YOUR SICK KIDS HOME PLEASE.
Cancellations & Refunds & Studio-Initiated Cancellations
- If the studio must cancel a class or program due to low enrollment, instructor illness, or unforeseen circumstances, families will receive either:
- A full refund, or a credit on their account, if they prefer.
Family-Initiated Day Camp Cancellations
- 14+ days before the program start: Refund minus a 10% administrative fee, or full studio credit.
- 7–13 days before the program start: Studio credit only.
- Less than 7 days before start: No refunds or credits.
Registration Transfers
- Guests may request to transfer to another program as long as the program you are transferring from is not already full.
- Transfers within 48 hours of the program start are not permitted.
Health, Safety, Allergies & Behaviour
- All participants must behave respectfully towards staff, peers, equipment, and the studio environment.
- Unsafe or disruptive behaviour may result in dismissal without refund. We have a zero tolerance policy for verbal or physical violence applicable to guests of all ages.
- Parents may be contacted for early pickup if a participant cannot safely remain in the program.
- Our studio is a nut-aware facility, but we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.
- Parents must disclose all medical, behavioural, and accessibility needs at registration in the applicable space.
Photo & Video Consent
- By registering for our programs you consent to videography and photography during your program. Digital content is used for online documentation and promotion. Participants with concerns, please speak to your facilitator at the beginning of your program and we're happy to avoid capturing you during documentation.
Artwork Pickup
- Finished artwork must be picked up within 30 days of the end of the season
- Unclaimed work may be discarded or repurposed due to limited storage space, although we try our very best to get all artwork back to it's makers.
Weather-Related Closures
- Weather closures will be announced through email and social media
- In most cases, a make-up class or studio credit will be offered.
- Refunds are not provided for weather-related cancellations.
Late Pick-Up
- Programs end at the scheduled time; please arrive promptly.
- Late pickups beyond a 10-minute grace period may be subject to a late fee.
**Liability Waiver Agreement**
- All registered participants (or parents/guardians of minors) must agree to our studio liability and safety waiver before attending any program.
- Participants must follow all safety instructions for tools, equipment, and materials.

By completing registration for our programs in our online system, you automatically agree to the following:
Assumption of Risk
I understand that participation in art activities may involve the use of tools, equipment, and materials that carry inherent risks. These risks may include, but are not limited to:
- Sharp tools (e.g., craft knives, stained glass tools, wire cutters, pottery trimming tools)
- Hot surfaces (e.g., ovens, kilns, glue guns, soldering irons)
- Heavy or breakable objects (e.g., clay, glass, sculpture materials
- Wet or slippery floors
- Dust, paints, glazes, adhesives, and other art materials
- Physical activities such as bending, lifting, standing, or repetitive motion
I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participating in studio activities.
Release of Liability
In consideration for being permitted to participate, I hereby release the studio, its owners, employees, contractors, volunteers, and representatives from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury that may occur:
- On studio property
- During studio programs held off-site
- While using studio equipment or materials
- Due to actions of other participants
This release applies to injuries including, but not limited to, cuts, burns, slips, allergic reactions, aggravation of existing conditions, or damage to personal property.
Medical Conditions & Allergies
I agree to disclose any medical, behavioural, or physical conditions, including allergies, that may affect participation or require accommodation.
I understand that the studio is not an allergen-free environment and cannot guarantee avoidance of specific allergens.
In the event of a medical emergency, I give permission for staff to secure appropriate medical attention for myself or my child. I understand that I am responsible for all associated costs.
Behaviour & Safety Compliance
I agree (or my child agrees) to:
- Follow all safety instructions given by studio staff
- Use tools, materials, and equipment only as directed
- Behave respectfully toward staff, participants, and property
The studio reserves the right to remove any participant who endangers themselves or others. No refunds will be issued in such cases.
Personal Belongings
I understand that the studio is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings brought into the studio or to programs held off-site.
Artwork Pickup
I acknowledge that finished artwork must be picked up within the timeframe specified by the studio.
Unclaimed artwork may be discarded, recycled, or repurposed due to limited storage capacity.
By registering below, you acknowledge that:
- You have read and understand the contents of this waiver
- You are aware of the risks involved in participating in studio activities
- You accept full responsibility for yourself or your child(ren)
- You agree to release the studio and its representatives from liability
